Ministry Trainee Scheme

Aim
We as a church are committed to developing and training people and ministry.​
We want to train people with a heart for the gospel, a passion to teach the Bible and to serve Christ in the future.
​​
We are looking for Christians who want to serve God and further the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
​
In particular, we are looking for people who are

Gospel focused and servant-hearted.

Committed to developing their understanding and handling of God's word.

Keen to share their faith and learn better how to communicate the gospel to those who as yet do not know the Lord.​
How's the time spent?
Time will be divided between teaching input, ministry experience, and practical service:
Teaching input including:
Formal training through attending the South West Gospel Partnership Ministry Training Course one day per week. Alongside this there will be seminars with both Pastors and studies with a nominated individual each week.

Ministry experience:
There are many ministry opportunities at Widcombe; as a trainee you might have the opportunity to be involved in one or more ministry areas including:

Working with international students

Student work

Children/Youth work

Evangelism
-
Biblical Counselling
-
Men/Women’s Ministry
-
Music Ministry
Practical service
Includes involvement in practical tasks to assist in the smooth running of the church such as set up for activities.
